Since 2013 we have been working alongside Syrian refugees in Jordan and with the local communities who are hosting them. In 2017, we helped 188, 316 people including 131,004 children.2018, World Vision programmes supported over 310,000 people in Jordan, including more than 160,000 children – 53% of which were women and girls.
Thanks to fundraising by the Love Running group at Woodlands Church in the UK, we supported a food programme in Azraq and Zaatari camps that helped around 28,240 Syrian refugee students per month (13,346 Boys and 14,894 Girls) in the camps’ schools. The programme’s Healthy Kitchens initiative provided both employment for Syrian refugee women and nutritional support for children – helping their health and learning.
See the difference one simple change can make.
Having fled the conflict in Syria, 12-year-old refugee Radwan was working on a construction site in Jordan when he encountered World Vision. With our help, he’s now back in school and in charge of his own future, with a smile on his face.
